Kelly started drawing as a child and got her degree in graphic design from Washington State University. After raising three boys she took up painting and has become a prolific oil painter using a contemporary method called “open Impressionism”that is characterized by a bold use of color and painterly impasto brush strokes to create lots of rich texture. Her work can be found in her Lotus studio on Cedros avenue in Solana Beach and in the Del Mar art center Gallery. Kelly makes her home and studio in the charming community of Encinitas California where she lives with her husband and Goldendoodle, Guinness.
